Highlights of the Garden

Before the rainy season begins and destroys all the plants in the garden.  Here are some of my favorite pictures of this summer's garden

The yellow chair I made into a birdbath, the Scrub Jay ( I call him Jermaine) visits it daily

These chairs were giving to me.  They were dark green and I painted them and turned them into bird feeders
I made this fountain out of a wine barrel and bamboo poles from a garden center

My naked lady amaryllis

Jasper the gnome,  he's very patriotic and loves gardening

Housewives of Klamath County

Last month one of my best friends got married to a great guy we've known since elementary school.  My other best friend, Lauren, and I threw her a housewife themed bachelorette party in Lauren's backyard. We all dressed up as housewives from the 1950's.  We made gin and tonics, served bit sized food, cut sandwiches out with bridal cookie cutters and hung cute tissue paper flowers over the sitting area (Pictured below)
This is the invitation I made and sent out to all the ladies

We even had a relay race with two teams.  Each person was assigned a different task and the first group to complete all the assignments won.  The tasks were: ironing a t-shirt, pressing garlic, vacuuming a rug and applying makeup without spilling their martinis
We also made the bride to be a Martini shaped pinata containing fun surprises for a bachelorette
Finally, Lauren had a great idea to hand a bedsheet on the clothesline and set up an ironing board in front so we could use it as a backdrop for a photo shoot

Maeve's Sweater

My fried had a beautiful baby girl over the summer.  I wanted to give her something special so I knitted this adorable wrap around sweater and matching headband with a flower attached for this cute little girl
She is so fashionable

Summer's End

Today is fall equinox and the end of summer but what a fun filled three months it was.  In June I redecorated my boyfriend's bedroom.  I painted the wall's a "summer fun" blue, painted him two original works of art, addes some shelves, a handmade lamp and clock and topped it off with a custom duvet cover.  Oz is really in to the 50's time period so I took elements from that decade and gave them a twist of fun.

Afterwords the bedroom is not only cleaner but organized and fun!

I used acrylics for this painting of a record with Frank Sinatra lyrics in the label.  Inside the record is a cityscape with a plane flying over the skyscrapers.

New shelves hold books and artwork.  I made matching bookends out of old records.

I created this clock using a vinyl record I found at Goodwill for a dollar

This painting was from a few years ago.  It matches the room perfectly.

This was the inspiration for the whole room.  I painted this a few years ago but it never really fit the decor until now.  It is the largest painting I have painted so far, 3'x4'.
